Our Team

Katie Drummond, P.T., DPT - Center Manager

Katie Drummond, P.T., DPT has been a member of BSWIR outpatient therapy since 2015. She specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation and sports medicine. Katie completed her undergraduate education at Texas A&M University and received a doctorate of physical therapy from Texas Woman's University. She also has her fellowship in manual therapy and certification in sports manual therapy and dry needling. Katie enjoys spending time with husband and son, running with her dog, Ranger and watching plenty of soccer! Katie says, "I make it my goal to do everything I can to help patients return to their prior level of function so they are ready to take on life's next challenge."

Carly Thompson , P.T., DPT, AIB-VRC

Carly was born and raised a Hoosier in the friendly state of Indiana. She moved to Portland, Maine, to pursue her doctorate in physical therapy and fell in love with the outdoors. In 2019, she moved to Dallas and now lives in Richardson with her husband and sweet dog. When Carly first pursued physical therapy, she thought she would work only to provide myofascial release services. After learning the need for skilled care to help people reduce dizziness and improve balance, she switched paths and never looked back. She truly loves helping others!

Cat Darnell, P.T., DPT

Cat treats patients of all conditions and diagnoses and has a special passion for patients in the neurologic population. She graduated from Ashland University with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and received a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Her motivation is helping people regain independence, reduce pain and return to what they love by combining science, compassion and movement.

Success Stories

Margaret Gharis

Margaret Gharis was standing in church when everything around her started spinning. It was determined the issue was vestibular, the sensory system that controls balance and movement. She was unable to drive or live alone, a disturbing consequence for someone who routinely attended a Silver Sneakers fitness program and enjoyed road trips. She was referred to Physical Therapist Sarah Brehn for vestibular therapy. Initially, Margaret relied on a friend to drive her to appointments. When her friend couldn't transport her one day, she took the bus. What Margaret didn't realize was the bus stop was a mile away from our center. Rather than turning back, she walked. With only a cane, she experienced no balance issues, which greatly restored her confidence. Margaret worked with Sarah on her balance and vision issues. She has returned to her home and is regaining her independence.
