Our Austin Lakeway center in located on the 2nd floor of the Specialty Clinic Building at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Lakeway at the intersection of Medical Parkway and Ranch Road 620.

We know that injuries are never scheduled, but relief can be. If you're injured, tired of having less mobility or experiencing aches and pains, let our licensed clinical experts help. 

As a multi-disciplinary therapy center, we offer physical, occupational/hand and speech therapy for individuals with musculoskeletal conditions, including strains, sprains and post-operative care. Our staff of licensed therapists specialize in orthopedic, neurological and cancer rehabilitation. We will work with you to craft an individual treatment plan to help you quickly return to daily activities, work duties and recreational pursuits.

Our Team

Nicholas Krutza, P.T., DPT, COMT, Cert DN - Center Manager

Nick Krutza, P.T., DPT enjoys working with all types of patients, but is most passionate about the orthopedic population. He always knew he wanted a career in health care, but physical therapy became solidified for him when he realized how much time PTs spend with their patients. Nick loves investing in people and building meaningful relationships, and is motivated to help others achieve their goals. Nick was born and raised in Wisconsin, and moved to Texas with his wife Anna in 2017. They plan to settle in Austin long-term with their French Bulldog "Pearl," and begin growing their family. Nick is passionate about sports, enjoys shoes, fashion, craft cocktails, cheese, competitive board games, TV series and traveling.

Carlos Valencia, P.T., DPT

Carlos Valencia was born in California and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoys treating patients of all kinds. He loves sports, being active, going to concerts and exploring the food scene in Austin. He says, "Being a physical therapist allows me to help others regain their strength, mobility and confidence. I also love seeing progress. I have a passion for movement, sports and injury recovery. I have experienced a long-term injury myself, so I know how it feels to be out and the long journey to getting back to your best."

Colleen Ward, P.T., DPT, OCS

Colleen enjoys treating patients with a variety of conditions, but working on tricky shoulders is her favorite! Her love for true crime and mystery solving is mirrored in her ability to solve orthopedic problems that others may not catch. Colleen is a mentor and clinical instructor. She has been with Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation for over four years with a specialization in orthopedics and Parkinson's disease (LSVT BIG Certified). She graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2017 with her doctorate in physical therapy.

Lesley Kranz, MSPT

Lesley has been an orthopedic physical therapist since 1997 and a physical therapist with Baylor Scott and White Institute for Rehabilitation for more than 10 years. She has recently joined the ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation team. She is a cancer survivor and feels extremely grateful to be able to assist this population while they navigate through treatment and survivorship. Lesley has a master's degree in physical therapy from Texas Woman's University.

Madison Beasley, P.T., DPT

Madison was born and raised in Austin. Madison strives to build meaningful relationships with her patients and create an environment where her patients feel empowered to work towards their movement goals and return to the activities that bring meaning to their lives. She hopes to empower patients and support them through their rehabilitation to embrace their potential to move through life healthfully and purposefully.

Manuel Lerma, P.T., DPT, LAT, ATC

Manuel (Manny) is a physical therapist and athletic trainer from McAllen, Texas. He is fluent in English and Spanish and is passionate in working with individuals who want to get back to functional and active lives. Manuel is passionate about continuing to gain knowledge and skill to work with athletes and provide the best care in their journeys to return to sport.

Mayra Diaz, P.T., DPT

Mayra is a new addition to the Lakeway Rehabilitation team, where she is reigniting the pelvic health program. Born and raised in Tyler, Texas, Mayra is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Prior to returning to school to earn her doctorate in physical therapy, Mayra worked as a physical therapist assistant in the East Texas area. She relocated to Austin, Texas, for this position with an established organization to support her skill set. Mayra has a passion for treating pelvic health conditions in women, men and has some experience with pediatric cases.

Rachael Baker, P.T., DPT

Rachael is a physical therapist at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation Outpatient Therapy in Lakeway. Rachael enjoys working with all types of patients, but is most passionate about the orthopedic population. Rachael brings lots of positivity and compassion to the patients she treats and has a passion for promoting wellness for all. Rachael says "I love this profession because I get to help people in my community achieve their physical and life goals. It is so rewarding to build relationships with my patients and watch them make progress throughout their sessions."

Valerie Hoke, OT, CHT, COMT, CEAS II

Valerie has been an occupational therapist at Baylor, Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation for 10 years and has practiced for 40 years. She is a mentor for hand therapy and treats all adults. She is a certified hand therapist, certified orthopedic manual therapist (upper extremity) from Select Medical, and certified ergonomic assessment specialist II. She loves helping people get back to doing what they want, need and love to do. Her favorite feeling is helping patients overcome obstacles and fears to return to productive and happy lives.
